Just a super quick post – I posted about the O!Mega Lash Volumizing mascara a while back (read it here) – I was not a fan. I went back to Sephora and upgraded to the Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara – it was exactly what I was looking for!
Two of my all time favourite mascaras are the YSL Faux Lash and the Guerlain Maxi Lash – I posted about it a while back. They are almost perfect; the two main downsides are the hefty price tag and how fast they dry out in the tube. So I’ve been on a hunt for replacements. The Marc Jacobs mascaras are not frugal but a few dollars less and last a bit longer with slightly more product – 0.32 ounces vs. 0.28 ounces of product for Maxi Lash.
The brush is bristly, my favourite, and has curves to make it easier to grab each lash with one swipe. It really does work. Normally curved mascara wands are a hit and miss, but this one is subtle enough that it increases performance. You can really get all your lashes in one go.
The formula is very workable. Doesn’t dry too fast so you can reapply without clumps or too much mascara gooping everywhere. And when it’s dry, your lashes are soft – velvet. With oily lids, I haven’t noticed any transfer throughout the day – unless you rub your eyes. And your lashes stay curled dispite being a non waterproof formula. And the volume? There’s a reason why it has the name – Major Volume!
At the end of the day, I’ve been able to get the mascara off with just water. Using a cotton pad and a micellar water is best so you can really get to the bottom of the lashes. I have to say this mascara is very very easy to take off!
If you have yet to try this mascara – I highly recommend this one! And the bottle is so chic. Can’t get enough!
Have a great weekend!
